I recently wrapped up my Everest Base Camp trek, embarking on February 10th and concluding on February 22nd. Our party comprised 10 individuals, led by KB Gurung, our seasoned trek leader, along with assistant guides Rakesh and Pancha. It was undeniably one of the most remarkable journeys of my life, seamlessly executed. KB Gurung and his team exhibited remarkable experience, alongside commendable traits such as humility, generosity, and a delightful sense of humor. Following Chij’s leadership, our entire group successfully reached Everest Base Camp without encountering any issues, including health-related ones. KB Gurung’s mastery of the trail ensured smooth navigation, supplemented by insightful instructions. Each day commenced with a thorough briefing session, ensuring everyone was well-prepared for the journey ahead. Moreover, their fluency in English facilitated seamless communication throughout the expedition. Today, they aren’t just guides; they’re cherished friends. A useful tip for those considering a monsoon trek: invest in rain pants for added comfort and be prepared for encounters with numerous leeches!
