The trek begins in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, and takes you to Mount Kailash, a holy mountain that is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists.

Mount Kailash is the source of four great Asian rivers: the Indus, the Brahmaputra, the Sutlej, and the Karnali. For Hindus, Mount Kailash is the throne of Shiva, the god of destruction and regeneration. For Buddhists, it is a giant natural mandala, or sacred diagram.
